'03 Suzuki GSXR600
I want your guys input, a lot of my friends have been telling me that they are dogs, but then the salesmen at Sky Powersports told me that in the 600 cc class, that the new 600's are probably one of the best bikes.

bikes are no different than cars and stereo's etc....
your always going to want more speed, sound etc....
though the new style 600's are as good if not better than slightly older 750's they are not going to rip your arms off like a nice turbo hayabusa would.
when i first got my 600 i was suprised by the power, now i realize that its pretty much dogshit above 80mph and the engine is so low on torque that too little rpm on a start makes me have to clutch in some more power or it will not go
but if you have little or no experience on bikes any new 600 will be more than enough for ya

so far what i have heard about the new gsxr 600 is that they suck. not that they suck as a bike but suck compared to the other year gixxers. they basically kept the same motor in the new ones but down in power. rear shocks are not supp to be that good. umm other than that they are pretty good. real good front end handling. just my.02

From everything I've read, NONE of the new group of 600's SUCK. They are all good bikes...... go look at them in person, sit on them etc.
Last cycleworld comparo I just read put the R6 first on there test track for laptime and about a tenth behind the quickest(new Kawi 636) in the quarter mile, around a 10.85 I think.
I got mine because it's the best looking new 600 out there in my opinion and Yamaha has a sweet financing offer going on now. 3.9% until Jan 2005 and no insurance required. if you qualify.
I would have seriously considered starting on a Katana if suzuki's financing offers were as good.
I think the GSX-R comes with a steering damper stock too? Thats about a $400 savings to think about.....

If I could afford a brand new 600, it would have to be an R6. It all depends on what your looking for in a bike really. All the 2003 600cc bikes are awsome, and they all have individual pros and cons about them.
I would get an R6 because its the lightest, best handling bike of the class. Who cares about power when picking one out of the 600 class...they all are fast as balls. So what if one is 1/10 of a second faster than the other in the 1/4 mile.
What it all comes down to (for me) is comfort and handling.
If the GSXR600 is comfortable for you, and you like the way it rides, then get it. So what if someone says its a "dog". None of the 600cc class bikes are dogs.
Then theres the rider. If your a shitty rider, then you can make the best super bike in the world look like a dog.
...Im done rambling...

They'll tell you whatever it takes to sell a bike.
Ill bet he would say the new R6 is "probably one of the best in the 600 class"....and ill bet he would say the new ZX-6R is "probably one of the best in the 600 class"....and ill be he would say the new CBR is "probably one of the best in the 600 class"....etc, etc, etc....
Fuck salesmen.
