I was already braking for the slowing traffic, then suddenly SUV. I tried avoiding her while minding traffic when she slams on her brakes stopping way short of the traffic ahead. So I made more corrections and the front wheel locked causing the bike to loop about 40-50 mph.
Ouch! Glad you survived; probably no chance of holding her accountable for causing an accident, eh?

technically it wasnt the ladies fault, someone didnt have full control of their bike which caused the accident. minding traffic when youre about to go down should be your last concern, controlling the bike should be the main concern. glad your ok though

Bikes don't stop on a dime, especially with a heavier rider on 'em. Even professional riders have laid their shit down trying to stop. Don't matter how many pistons and calipers you've got, you simply don't have the contact patch to stop short.

laying it down would of been a better option than wadding up the front brake. again she stated she was minding traffic... if i was about to get in a wreck and couldnt stop fast enough i wouldnt mind traffic at all, i would be more concern of oh shit how do i get out of this situation type of deal... at that point its every man/woman for themselves and protecting myself.

Which lane were you in the far left or far right alex? I commute over the howard franklin every day...and i stay in either the left or right lane...someone stops short on me I pull to the emergency lane and pass 6+ cars of traffic. that way i get away from the idiots that cant drive and get in behind some more expensive car where the driver appears to be mindful.
