In case anyone is still here....
First time up north with an inline and first time 2 up as well. She just started riding with me 6 months ago. Found it a bit hard to move my body around when 2 up. This was the middle of last week. TN highway patrol was out as soon as you crossed the state line.
Ohlins shock did wonders! Looking at one of the pics my forks will be the next to upgrade.

her body position on the left angle pics are a dead give away of which way she likes to lean.
Sounds like you 2 had a blast, look forward to seeing more pics.
Wish I was in a situation where I could make a trip out of state again. Deals Gap Last October was great.
You picked the PERFECT time of year to go there.
Thanks for Sharing your trip on here

My forks aren't really dialed in at all and may even be on or close to factory settings. I tried to get a hold Chad Wolf before my trip but he's been under the radar.
Regardless, the factory forks are sprung for a rider under 200 lbs so I am under sprung.
Between the pilot pures and new shock my confidence is up but now I can feel the softness in the front.
I can still push some as long as its not too bumpy.
My original plan was to get ohlins cartridges so i could keep my black fork tubes. I don't want much gold on the bike. However they stopped making them for this year. It probably would of been overkill for me as its primarily my street bike with maybe 1 trackday a year.
So now my goal is ohlins springs, oil, Supersport 20mm valve kit, GP suspension Compression Needles and micro polish the fork tubes.
Unless your a hardcore racer searching for every tenth you won't notice a difference with this set up.
Suspension and light weight wheels is the most bang for your buck mod you can do for your bike.
Another thing I will mention is this bike is overkill in the mountains. The moment your on the gas you have to let off and brake because the next corner comes very fast. Super moto, 600's or vtwin superbikes ftw up there.

Like you were saying the best thing you can do for deals gap is have a decent set up suspension, and some good rubber. (altho u said light weight wheels, but i dont know anything about that)
What tires are you running? I am sprung over the bridgestone bt003rs's

Your a smaller guy so you will be able to get away with the stock stuff. Just have it set up for you and your riding style. Do you still have the Oem dunslops tires?
Thanks Mike. I have a couple thousands in it since the last time you seen it. It almost where I want it to be.

I'm on the shitty unevenly worn mismatched pair of tires that came with the bike. I am mentally unable to push myself any harder with this in the back of my mind, but I can honestly say I'm more comfortable on this bike than the R6 for whatever reason. Can't wait to get some new rubber. I've always been on Pilot Powers but thinking about trying a set of Q2s, thoughts? These tires are going to have to suffice for cruising around town while I take a break from the bike to dump thousands into the M3 for MAINTENANCE.

I'm on Pilot Pures. Very light weight tires. Some people hate em and others love em. I for one love them.
Q2's are suppose to be the shit too. Lots of people swear by them but don't expect the mileage out of them.
They are cheaper then the Pures though.
If you always run Michelin then get the Pures. Powers are obsolete. On the ape I got a bit over 3500 miles out of the rear. Which is really good for that bike. The R1 has 4500 miles on them and I can see going another 1500 easily.
I'm pretty sure your bike comes with a 190/55 but if not upgrade to that size.

Yeah stock is 190/55. I've heard so many good things about the Q2s I want to see what they're all about, but if not I think I'll take your suggestion for the pures.
