Get the 600. Its still very fast, but you will acually be able to learn on it and ride it hard, as with the 750 you will be afraid of it cause everytime you get on it, it will bring the front end up. Both are very fast, the 750 has 25 more rwhp and weighs the same.

Get the 600 and learn to become a good rider before you decide you want to go fast and do stunts or whatever. Even the 600 is too much for most people to learn on, you should get a kawasaki ex500 or 250, then get a 600. Whatever you do just remember to take the MSF course.

BTW like "ryuujin" said you will drop it, its really not a matter of will you, its when will you. I mean everyone drops there bike in the garage or somewhere sometime, you sure you want it to be a new 600 or 750???

-good luck, keep us posted

Yep.
I agree with ryuujin.
My first bike was a 1997 Suzuki Katana 600. Only cost me $2900.
Ran great...great first bike. I dropped it twice , but it was not that nice anyway.

Now I have a GSXR600. Which is a big difference. I would not have been able to handle it as my first bike.

I say get a katana or ninja 500 or something.

Mike.

For real, people aren't saying this for shits and giggles.

Go for the new bike if you don't mind listening. They're just trying to look out for you, used is cool b/c you don't have to pay the markup to get it new, and you won't be the one to take it dropped virginity. You don't want to make your bike into a slut from being all nice. Buy the cheap ho and get a nice one later.

I think my metaphors sounded good in my mind, but didn't come out quite right.

start out on something smaller and older!!!! You won't be crying when you wreck it!! Your relatives will be! Because most of the time you won't walk away from an accident.. Be smart about this, it's not a joke.
