I dont know what your talking about, Harley has had the VR 1000 for years now, and its running AMA competitive races

Just some specs on it un-modified

yeah but you guys forget ownin a harley is like ownin a classic vette or something sure it is a good bike but it is deffinately a weekend thing you spend all week fixin it so you can ride it on the weekend.

harley davidson can be summed up inone statement in my opinion......"HOLY OUT DATED TECHNOLOGY BATMAN"

besides reguardless of the power that it makes it still isnt as fast so what difference does it make?

and dont compare the AMA bike to regular bikes like apples to oranges, harley or not you can BUILD damn near any bike to be competitive.

Ok First have you ever owned a Harley??? Proubly not, my uncle, my dad, and many of his close friends own Harleys, and they brake less than most sportbikes, its all in how you ride them. Given the older Harleys(Pan and Knuckle head) were braking down alot, but that is because they were made 2 and 3 decades before you and I were born, same thing with all cars that age, they brake shit, jsut cause of age. Now the EVO motor, made in the early 90's, what the problem with it?? Nothing, it works fine, but your to ignorant to know that, you just go by what others say, and what you have heard, that would be like me saying cause the '76 hondas were POS and slow as hell, Honda will never make a fast car!!!!!

Also you said that
cant make tjeir FORTE' bike (cruiser) well how the hell are they sposed to make a race bike lol
, well I jsut proved you wrong with the above post, they make a race bike, and its avalible to the public, in AMA race ready trim, but you do have to shell out 20K+

And Harley has a wonderful heratige of racing, if not for them, we would not even have sport bikes today, Harley was the first sportbike inventor.

Oh and how in the hell is there Technology out dated?? Where are you getting your info?? Mr. Rogers??? DOHC Fuel Injected motors are outta date now???

yeah get me jesse i was referring to how long it took harley to come full circle and start changing their bikes. they ran the same design forever, i do like the harley v rod and other stuff but i get so sick of hearing about how "bad ass" harleys are gimmie a break

yeah im just regurgitating what i have heard from others, what the fuck ever, i know plenty about bikes, i am just not interested in cruiser bikes. they are too loud, slow, and inefficient.

bikes are supposed to be light and harleys are heavy as shit. if you dont know someone dont assume they are ignorant, fuck tard (not insulting you, i just wanted to say fuck tard ) im far from ignorant. someone asked buell or cbr, to which i answered CBR ecause buell bikes dont have the R&D or experience that honda does in making sports bikes. maybe i was a lil hard on the harleys but perhaps it was just subconcious venting from the hour and a half i spent stuck behind about 200 or so of them this past sunday that were on a bike rally on 75 headded south doin like 50 on a road that has a 70 mph speed limit turned a 2 hr road trip in to a 3 1/2 hr journey harley tryin to make sport bikes is like ducatti tryin to make a cruiser pointless

LOL, Ok so now your going to say that Buell Doesnt have Updated tech, they dont have a good R&D Program?? Once again, I would love to meet who you are getting your information from??? Take the new Firebolt and Lightning for example, they carry the oil tank in teh swingarm, and the gas in hte frame, all to centralize more weight, and keep the fuel from sloshing around in turns, name me one other streetbike manufacture that does that, wait I dont know of any, must be that out dated tech that buell is using . Also they braking system is one of the strongest, and lightest on any sportbike produced at this time and they have the shortest wheelbase..

Erik Buell has also been into racing since the 70's, he built his own bike because the others on the market wernt good enough, well that inturn led to him creating his own Sportbike company in 1993 only to be bought out by the worlds largest Motorcycle manufactor 3 years later, given they are a fairly new company, but I would not go as far as calling then outdated, or undertechnoligzied ( is that even a word ).

As for Harley comming full circle, why change something that works great and is your number one seller, I mean that would be like for going, weve made the F150 for 25 years, and every year its been the top selling pick up, but you know what were jsut going to stop making it cause its had all these little problems, no where would that make since??

yeah im just regurgitating what i have heard from others, what the fuck ever, i know plenty about bikes, i am just not interested in cruiser bikes. they are too loud, slow, and inefficient.
As for that, I never said you did not know anything about "bikes" I just said you know shit about Harley in general, but here you are cutting them down, proubly never have ridden one, never owned one, but yet you say they are slow, loud, heavy, POS's, again you are letting you ignorance about the subject show, have you ever heard a stock Harley run, with the exhaust Harley put on it??? Its quiter than my friends TLR with stock exhaust.

bikes are supposed to be light and harleys are heavy as shit. if you dont know someone dont assume they are ignorant
Yeah racing bikes are suppost to be light, what does weight matter when your just out to enjoy the ride???

Anyways as for you getting stuck behind a buch of harley's, get used to, your going to be seeing it alot more as Harley was the top selling motorcycle maker for awhile, I mean shit most of the guy out there have been riding longer than you have the least you can do is show some respect and let them enjoy there ride instead of trying to rush them.

Anyhow, Im tired, im out.

no i said harley has the out dated tech. i never said buell didnt have good tech. i just simply said that they havent had the TIME with R&D that most the other manufacturers have had with building bikes. and yeah eric buell has been into racing since the 70's. I too am into racing but that dosent mean that i can go out and build a perfect car or bike my first time out or second or third for that matter. there would be alot of trial and error, so im just not ready to jump on the buell band wagon just yet. and im not a huge fan of their styling.

I HAVE ridden on a harley and that is where i formed my opinion it is like when you get done ridin it you itch because of all that vibration, and it is just toooo heavy and loud. concerning the stock exhaust yeah on rare occasion i do hear the stock exhaust but how many harlye owners do you know that want to keep the stock exhaust?

if i were gonna have a cruiser bike i would rather have the honda VTX or a west coast chopper (VTX because they are actually pretty quick and WCC because they are just DAMN sexy) but for the most part i just dont like cruisers of any sort. ESPECIALLY not harleys

and as far as the "if it aint broken why fix it" im not sayin that they shoulda stopped makin them just atleast offered up some bikes that were different even if they still kept their original one in production as well.

I never said that i was tryin to rush them just irritated that they took up all 3 lanes for a bike ralley without any consideration for any other vehicles on the road. i did show my respect but is 4 wide just not wide enough? do you have to ride 6 wide and make it so that NOONE could pass?!?! i mean where is their road courtesy?
