Default No Motorcycle Endorsement Ticket

Hey guys.

I know this has been posted in the past, but I've never seen someone actually post the outcome. So I wanted to post up and ask for some advice, then actually follow up and post my outcome. So with that said, here's my scenario.

On 3/20/2011 I was pulled over riding to Clearwater Beach. I got pulled over for passing in the emergency lane. Completely my fault. I'm a pretty new rider and I had a friend tell me it was legal to do. I didn't actually think that his statement made no sense, so just took his word and did it. That got me pulled over lol. My problem was that I didn't have my endorsement printed on my license so I got the No Motorcycle Endorsement 322.03(4) ticket also. I had already done the MSF course in December, but hadn't gone to the DMV to get the endorsement printed on my license out of pure laziness. I showed the cop that I had taken the course and that I had the card, but he still gave me the ticket. So the next day 3.21.11 , I went to the DMV and got the endorsement printed on my license.

My question is, what should I expect in court? Should I get a lawyer? I would really hate for something this dumb to leave me with a criminal record. I'm hoping that the judge sees that I've never had a ticket before and that I got the endorsement the next day and withholds adjudication. I'm totally willing to pay the tickets and the fees.

Am I being to hopeful or does that sound like a reasonable outcome? Any advice would be appreciated!

And I will post the outcome to help anyone with this situation in the future. My court date is on 5/9/11. Thanks guys!

from what i have heard from other people's experience, the judge just dismissed it with some minor court fees. i could be totally wrong.

just go do your motorcycle endorsement (the one where you have to take the classes) before your court date. this might be a little bit better in the eyes of the judge.

someone chime in and help this fucker out, bike-tech

sorry, just skimmed through his post and totally misread the MSF COURSE/ just make sure to get it put on your license and i think you should be good to go.

DO NOT FORGET TO ADDRESS THE JUDGE " YOUR HONOR" be respectful and down to earth and youll hopefully get off with a very minor court fee.

Pretty much what joe2dmax said. You already took the class, just don't lose the proof that you took it, and show it to the judge when the time comes, so they see you did indeed take the class. As for your other ticket, I got nothing. Just admit you were an ignorant dip shit, and won't do it again.

Awesome! Thanks for the quick advice fellas! And yeah joe2dmaxx, I already took the course, just didn't get it put on my license. And then the day after I got the ticket I got it on my license.

Also thanks for the "Your Honor" tip! I've heard the judges really get hard for that.

Yeah, I'm totally fine admitting that I messed up with the other ticket. It was dumb to do that. I deserve the ticket.
