I have a 110cc X-22 (aka GS-59). It's sleek as hell and handles really nice. I was out riding with my neighbor, (he has a 90cc manual bike) when we got pulled over by the police. The cop was real nice and what not, threatened to impound the bike and revoke my car licensee (Didn't have an endorsement at the time). I remember him saying something that pocket bikes are illegal and what not. This was about a year ago.


I recently got to thinking; what if I could get it street legal? The bike has a VIN that has never been registered to my knowledge, but it doesn't have a title or registration. (I bought it at a police auction ironically. The keyhole was stripped, but I replaced it). I was thinking I would take out the 100cc automatic engine and swap it with a 125cc manual engine, but I'm not sure about that one yet. I know for a fact that I would have to add mirrors onto it as well.

I was wondering if anyone had the knowledge to help me get the bike street legal. What papers would I have to get, would I have to make any modifications, etc...

i know if i ever saw somebody riding one of those on the street like it was some pimp ass bike i would laugh my ass off, followed by me throwing my big gulp out the window at him

i did see someone riding a pocket chopper to the gas station near the lot once, i was really dissapointed that i didnt have a big gulp in my hand

Hell, I'm only 17 and sure as hell don't have the money for anything bigger at the moment. I figure I may as well make do with what I have. I'll tell you though, that little bike hauls ass.

Lol@ricksta. but seriously dude, if u dont have a title u cant get it tagged.

I had an x18 that I got tagged to ride on the street legally. Skittle had one tagged on the road. (which now u may not be able to get it tagged due to changes in laws)

But seriously man, what do u mean U cant afford anything better?? Stop riding that pos pocket bike on the road, sell it for $300 and save some money and start with a small 2 stroke dirtbike to get tagged on the road or like a ninja 250 just a lil throw away bike u can find them usually around 700-800.

Well, I got the bike pretty much brand new for $120. Plus I don't have a job, so I'm kinda stuck with the x-22.

How would I get it tagged?

You have to have a title. or atleast a mco certificate so u can get a title.

now if u were in cali u would just need $20 and fill out a reg230 form. they'll then issue u a permanent moped tag (my schwinn motorbike is now tagged in cali at my brothers address)




how are u gonna pay for the registration? it's gonna be atleast $150 for tag tax title. why dont u just trade me ur pocket bike for one of my motorized bicycles (worth about the same)....or i'll even set u up with a schwinn OCC Chopper motorbike but u gotta put the chain on it (brand new motor)

they do make these street legal... you should google the idea tho, were not the DMV
