I was heading to school and a car turned left into a neighborhood and a car coming at me didnt see my behind this guy. He turns left in front of me into a neighborhood, i was going 60. I slammed both my brakes hard enough that my back tire came off the ground. I thought I was gonna hit the trunk area of his car and i leaned left so that just my bike would hit. Out of no where I heard a weird click sound. Next thing I know, im still going foward alive and on my bike. I turn and look and he's stopped and looking at me. I was kind of in shock and didnt bother to stop and beat his ass because i was late to class. Anyway I was wondering what that click was and though maybe my trunk area hit his trunk. But my bike was clean. I looked down walking into class and figured out what the sound was, my shoe was ripped down the right side. It barely tagged sometime on his car, bumper? Trailor hitch? Idk what it was but it scared the heck out of me. Now I got this rip in my shoe to remind me how close i was today.

I usually wear Doc Marten's , not as much protection as full on racing boots but better than a pair of sneakers. I'll wear sneakers too buy prefer the doc's, keeps my ankles warmer when it's chilly out at night
