Default power commander and exhaust help

ok i am going to purchase a power commander and a full exhaust for my 03 cbr 600rr. it has 05-06 fairings on it but it is an 03 so my question is.... what is the diffrence between the power commander and the exhaust for the years 03-04 and 05-06? will the 05-06 power commander work on my 03? i am not sure what the diffrence is but i looked it up and there is a diffrent part number so there must be some change in the years...and as for the exhaust will the 06 exhaust work on my 03? i have been told if i want the 06 exhaust to work i need to use 06 headers because the 03-04 headers are like 3 degrees different in the angle or some shyt...but they said if i put 06 headers on the bike then i can use an 06 exhaust but if i use 03 headers i can not use an 06 exhaust...but i am going to get a full exhaust so that would include headers i believe so will it work?

Both PC are the same unit and the only difference is the base map. They are different part numbers so that you recieve the correct map to load when purchased new. You will need a map specified for your bike. You will have to send the settings from your computer to the power commander as a "table" not as a "map". It will show an error if you send it as a map.

And your answer to the exhaust. It will kinda work.

He can use either as long as he has the correct map for his bike. It has been tested by someone on 600rr.net. It will even work on an 07+ but again, only with the correct map.

Ok, but obviously there was some reasoning as to why Power Commander made 2 completely different units if you were supposed to use either or on your model.

Maps. The hardware itself has to be identical, hence why it worked with a correct map loaded on. I'm not saying any PC will work with any bike. The connectors used are probably different depending on what bike it is (although if you went through the trouble of getting the correct connectors i bet it would still work). But in this situation it does work.

I have a 2005-2006 CBR 600RR Power Commander on my 2003 CBR 600RR. You just have to copy/paste the correct map for the 03, onto the base map on the 05 PC.

Find the correct map for your 03.
Open the base map on the 05 PC.
Copy/Paste over the base map.
Export/Save.

All of the plugs are the same, it's just different hardware.
