Exclamation Dont buy Sprocket Specialists products!!

I had Sprocket Specialists 520 sprockets with an EK 520 MVXZ chain on my 06 GSXR1000. I replaced the chain and sprockets at the same time. With only 3K miles on it 14 teeth sheared off of the front sprocket and they dont want to do anything about it! I mailed the sprocket back to them on Dec 28th, after they told me to. A month later I had not heard anything from them so I called and they told me they wouldnt cover it since I had the chain kit installed on my K6 750 for a lil over 1500 miles. So then I called them last Tuesday and the manager said the owner would call me that day. Here it is a week later, no phone call or anyhting.

To rule out the transfer from one bike to another causing an issue, the chain had to be shortened so its not like I had to add links to it. There are pics and more info in this thread. Stripped front sprocket! : Suzuki GSX-R Motorcycle Forums: Gixxer.com

I just want to spread the word about how they are not willing to do anything about their product failing! Now I have to buy a new sprocket and chain cuz the broken sprocket messed up my chain. Since Im replacing those parts I might as well put a new rear sprocket on it so everything can wear evenly. I can say for sure they wont be getting my business or the business of any of my friends! Im going with a Driven sprockets next time!

Here are pics for those of you that dont feel like clicking the link

How do they know it was on the 750 1st? That shot you in the foot right there.

The guy I bought it from knew because I ordered it for the 750. Then I told him it was on a 1000 and he asked if I transferred it over and I said yes. He talked to them before I had a chance to so they already knew what was going on when I called. Either way, that shouldnt matter.

Yeah, I its one thing to have teeth start sheering off on the rear, but i've never seen a front sprocket do that.

depends on the chain. some 520s are stronger than others. i've sprayed a 1000 with a 60shot on a 520 chain and didnt' hurt anything.
