It's not your imagination: Florida leads in motorcyclist deaths - St. Petersburg Times

News article from todays paper, my favorite line ;

"They'll blame the people in the cars, the people on the motorcycles, even the poor snowbirds."

 

Not too surprising considering we live in the state with the nation's worst drivers and largest or second largest population of motorcycle riders. Put enough bikes on the streets and you will get a large number of deaths, then throw in enough horrible drivers and you have a recipe for number one!!! We win! Oh wait... we didn't want to win this one?

 

True, more riders+bad driver= death & disfigurement. But it seems hard to get accurate # to causes of these deaths, everytime a rider goes down there is a diffrent story behind it.

 

i wanna see some laws passed about texting and talkin on phones down here while driving...i'm sick of these dumb ass 20 yr old girls not payin attention..and old people need vision tests too.....


lol...everyone needs to just drive like everyone else is trying to kill u and u will be ok..

 

Also I think that after a certain age they should make you take your drivers test to see if you still qualify to be driving on the streets of FL. It seems that the older and blinder you get the easier it is to keep renewing your drivers license gets I mean come on old people can just do everything through the mail now adays its crazy you could be half blind and still renew your license and I think that is very unfair and wrong that rite their causes a major part of FL. accidents due to the elderly......

 

not to mention that you can ride 10 months out of the year in great
weather

 

every1 always blames the old people in this state...honestly its the younger 1'ns... the young girls cant drive at all cause they are doing make up or texting or getting fingered or some fukin dumb reason the middle age women cant drive because they are talking on the phone and women just suck at driving and the males are getting head while driving or they want to show off and speed all around and what not... its crazy...probably the only people that can drive are old people...they go so damn slow we can just go around them and not wory about them hitting us...

 

^ wrong the old people pull out in front of us with there tanks for cars that are damn near impossible to get around.

 

everyone has their own opinion for who's at fault. the fact remains that if you ride in Florida you're 35% more likely to die doing it. I really don't enjoy that though for my self & my freinds so..... ATGATT.

 

lol maybe but i always get the 25 year old guy with a fucking pony tail in a firebird pulling out in front of me. or the 17 year old in a honda civic or a 23 year old guy in a supped up mustang.
