Someone has been busted for 53 mph over today
I sure hope so, impound cars too, not just bikes. I think a car is more dangerous at 50mph above posted compared to a bike.

The law does apply to cars too, but the 50mph over part is the most reasonable part of this law. The exact same penalties apply for wheelies, all wheelies, so even an inch off the road for a fraction of a second. Finally, the absolute worst law I have ever heard of in my life, improperly mounted or obscured tag will get you the same penalties as well! That means you could ride through a puddle in the rain, kick some dirt up onto your tag, and get a $1,000 fine at the next stop light! Hell, I believe a forum member already proved in court that motorcycle tags are manufactured to an illegal specification as you cannot read the size of the letters at the distance mandated by law with a spot light on it!
Just wait until the second offense...

I agree with the guy above that it's the most reasonable part of those recent laws that passed. You can accidentally mount your tag wrong if you're not careful, I dont think wheelies are extremely dangerous (i guess that's why im not a congressperson lol)... but going 50mph over the speed limit is definitely worth a considerable punishment IMO.

what i dont understand is if your gonna be doing 118 on public streets, why you wouldn't just run, it takes a police cruiser 25 seconds to get to 100mph (not 11
, and in that 25 seconds the bike would travel 4300 feet, nearly a mile away from where the cop originally was, im just too lazy to see where the cop would be 25 seconds later.
regardless...
