pre-labor day ride at "hillside"
. From my house in New Tampa, I'm probably looking at an hour ride or so. That's just how I see it.
its only 20 minutes away from my place here in gville.
i can get it from raul....ive been up there with him once....its nice but alot of rights clockwise and counterclockwise alot of lefts. but it is sweet....
I feel much more comfortable on rights... I am right handed and positioning my body on right hand bends feels very natural to me.
On lefts handers, I am still looking for that natural feel, but if looking at the tire wear is any indication, It looks as though I am doing as good as on rights.
I think my outing @ Jennings (primarily all left handers) helped quite a bit on my lefts turns, since I don't remember feeling weird while I was there after the 1st few laps of each session.
I try not to get close to the yellow line on lefts... but sometimes & go into the bend too conservatively and no amount of gas keeps me wide. But for the most part, I try to begin the turn by the white outer line & then appex in the middle of the lane... if I see a car coming I pick it up... no need to further take any more risks than already in progress with speed.
Joe make a path... a spot for me at your place to park the truck, and we'll go there when I get back. I'll bring Video & my Camera along with another photographer to take good shots. Hossier Daddy from the Photo & Graphics forums in TR may come up with us.

just my random .02.. prob worth even less that that.
I think your dirtbike bars arnt as as angled as clipons, plus from the pics I've seen, you don't hang off the bike as much as most. so I can deff see where those things keep you from some crazy ass wrist angle. making rights feel more normal. also for me, sport bikes are just not built for tall guys with long arms, so I'm pretty cramped up.
as for your lefts.. from your sig pic, looks like your right elbow is up in the air. where that my be because of the bars, not hanging off and being shorter, but the trick of having your elbow on the tank makes everything feel much better for me. even thou I hate the thought of scraching my tank since its a fucking black bike. but its the only way that feels right. so I do it.

Yeah the MX bars are deff angled diff, and also placed much higher than on Sportbikes. But for what it is worth, I have ridden ZX7's alot, and the right hand feel is still more natural for me... however with the new injury I have on my right wrist I can't ride a bike with clipons anymore, so I know what you mean about the crazy wrist thing.
What you might want to do, If you care to... is do what the racers do. Get a set of adjustable clipons and find your comfort zone. Sometimes something like that turns out to be the best mod ever done... I rode a 2stroke RZ350 race bike a long time ago, and the guy had his clipons angled in such a way the when hanging way off the wrists were straight... it was a bitch hanging on in the straights, but he loved it that way
I can vouch for the Pazzo Levers, forexample. They are pricey, and most sneeze at the thought of spending $150 - $200 on levers... but for me it makes a world of difference to be able to adjust them to my comfort. Much more important & usable than $1000 on a exh for a 5hp gain. After all it's the freaking controls, which is why I also went through 3 diff bars on my bike.

where i do like moving the clipon's out and have done it on one of my other bikes and even my pocket bike feels better like that lol. there's just not room on this 10. the levels almost hit the cowl now. to get anymore i'd have to cut something... so fail.
as for the levels, i have heard of the pazzo's and for a while the zx10 guys thought that they somehow fixed the front brakes. so they raved about them. but in the end they just adj farther away from the bar so you couldn't pull them all to the way to the grip like the stock ones could randomlly do. it hid the fail, but didn't fix it. funny how the new calipers cost less than the levers lol
for the little riding i do, i'm ok with the stocker's. since the caliper upgrade i run them on the closest setting anyway, and they feel fine for me. or it could be i just don't know any better, but i'm ok with that, again since i don't ride the thing. and when i do, i'm slow.
