Default frame sliders won't come off

I installed them about a month ago it was easy took the bolt out installed the frame slider. Now a month later I go to take off my fairing and I have to remove the frame slider first so I bust out the socket wrench and it turns about 4 turns then locks up and it won't turn anymore. I have no clue what's wrong I read a bunch of how to's and the instructions before I installed it and its worked fine until I tried to take it out anyone know whats wrong?

yeah, you didn't put any anti seized on it.

if you haven't snapped the bolt off yet or stripped it out. find some pb blaster. spray it on, wait a while, spray some more. tap it some to shock it.

then after a few mins or hours of that, try tighten it back up. it should go back in some. then spray more and work the bolt in and out as much as it will give you. don't force it.

with luck it will come off.

Sounds like the threads are screwed. If the spray doesn't work, it's prolly best to remove it with an impact wrench and hope the bolt doesn't break. You may have to get a new bolt and rethread the hole.

first off, what yr bike is it? there are other options to get the plastics off, on my old bike, I cut a hole in the plastics large enough to fit the sliders thru, it became a pain cause I was always removing them to do anything to the bike.

if you do it with precision, it wont look bad at all, use your imagination when it come to cutting the hole. ask questions, measure 4 or more times before cutting, and dont use the first tool you find laying around to cut it.

as far as getting the bolt out, you might have to get a new set of sliders, but I would cut the slider off, take off the plastics, and find some heat (torch) and work it out that way, you might try working it back and fourth, each time try and take it 1/4 turn past the last turn.

I would not recommend an impact, you can really mess things up that way, especially if you snap it off.

need tires (take offs)? PM me
need a deal on a track day? PM me

disclaimer: I sell used tires (take-offs), these tires have been used at Jennings, Homestead, etc. (road courses for those that dont know) therefor these tires are more used up on the sides than in the middle,
