Default Post your insurance rate

A buddy of mine is looking at getting rid of his '05 CBR600RR, and he will cut me an awesome deal on it. So naturally I'm interested in picking it up, but I'm a bit concerned about insurance. I did a full coverage quote with Geico and it was something absolutely insane like $7000/yr. I'm 21/m, completely clean driving record, and that's including the discount from taking the MSF course (which I plan to do very soon).

I know you're not required to carry insurance in FL, but I would like to have my bike covered if it's stolen or if (god forbid) I get hit by someone or hit someone else. So, who are you guys insured with, what are your basic stats (age, violations, etc), what coverages do you have, and what rate do you pay? Just trying to figure out what coverages to go for and what companies to look into.

state farm.

I also got crazy quotes like 3000+ a year when I called around. when I called state farm I didn't really believe them. I don't even remember how much. like under 300$ a year? or something crazy like that. I had to switch all my cars and stuff over thou. they wouldn't do the bike by itself.

but I guess that's how you know when you've gotten old. your auto insurance gets cheap and all the rest goes thru the roof.

$3600/year. State Farm. I have a perfectly clean record; no tickets or accidents. It sucks...
