actually the traffic court messed up on one of his tickets, they said he didn't pay so he had to pay it again. i guess the stupid clerk forgot to put it in the computer just like the insurance clerk that forgot to put my dads Mercedes on full coverage and when he crashed it a month later he didn't get anything for it.

A good tip for dealing with the government and your driving info is get a reciept for EVERYTHING and keep it safe - because these things happen all the time. Motherfuckers actually gave me a tag that they had in the computer as issued to somebody else's bike. I had to go back in and exchange out the tag for the corect one with the correct decal. If I got pulled over and the cop didn't believe my story (backed up by all the paperwork I kept and put in my bag reguardless) I woulda been in some shit, too.

Just a sucky situation all around but nice write up. I enjoyed reading it and it even sparked some discussion here at my work between people that ride and their own personal tag infraction stories. I guess the moral of the story is if the cops want to write you up, they are going to and their is not much you can do about it. All we can do is try to not give them a reason to notice us in the first place.

good ish... i remember when a cop gave my friends and i shit... and i always carried the statute and i pulled it out and said well it looks like i can see it from 100ft... i counted out each step and i read him all 3 plates... he didnt really say anything after that but, ill be waiting for you on the otherside of the skyway.

Thx for the comments all...

I didn't change my tag... it's still where its at in the pics... If I get another one of these lame tickets I intend to try and "fail" again...

This time I will go into court with proof their statute does not apply to bike tags and can't be read from 100ft away, armed with an eye test chart.

If that still doesn't get me off... I will try to get that published as well... maybe even on TV.

I may fail... but It won't be for lack of cojones to do what others haven't

Stick it to the man brother! You should just bring a motorcycle plate, pace off 100 feet from the witness stand when the cop is up there, then hold it up and say "read this!" When he cannot you can turn toward the judge and say, there you go, this officer needs to be taken off active duty as he cannot meet the physical requirements to enforce the laws that currently exist.
