So in attempt to make my bike a bit more twisty-friendly, I appeared to have destroyed my stability as the bike will wobble quite easily.

I've:

• dropped the front forks till they hit the top of the plate
• Put in new dogbones to raise the rear about an inch and some
• down one in the front
• recently went up three in the rear
• today I put in a new EK 112link ZVX2 chain (old chain broke)
• today I've swapped out the steering damper oil with heavier weight oil to help.

I've shortned the wheelbase, and tightened up the trail alot, so my stability has been destroyed. Around corners at indicated 120-130, I feel the handlebars wag side to side.

I'm willing to bet the change was the wheelbase..but I'm reluctant to go back to stock and want to explore all my options before I resort to that... Anyone have any ideas on how to help deal with this better?

 

Is getting another bike an option? Seriously.

If not, i would say something needs to be done with your suspension

 

id raise the forks up some... it may be front heavy now since its getting head shake...

 

if front was dropped, you will get headshake as speed increases
like what jameson said, raise it up and hopefully problem will be solved.

How much did you drop the front? Also, I've heard of people shimming the rear up 6mm (1/4") or so but not an inch!
