Can someone explain SDMS to me?
Maybe a bike is the encouraging push you need. The difference is night & day between 200 & 300lbs on a sport bike. If your's only looking for a cruiser, a busa or zx14 would probably be more comfortable. Contrary to popular belief, riding like an ass is not a requirement of owning one.
As far as bikes go, Im just looking for something to enjoy until I can get the $$$ up for a KTM RC8. I'd like something with enough power to haul me around while I do the years long process of sloughing off the pounds. The lightest I will be able to get (healthily) is about 210-220 (I have a big frame), so I think looking at the larger bikes is realistic for me.

you are about the same build as me. I am just shy of 300 - roughly 285 - 290lbs and I would jump on a 600 all day long just cause I know how to ride it. personally I have a 750, used to have an Aprilia RSV. I ride the track only, no more street for me on my own bike but I tend to borrow a friends 600 from time to time and trust me, that bike as more than enough for me on the streets, yeah I cant power wheelie it but I can clutch it up if I am in the mood to wheelie and I will roll with the 1k or leave them in the twisties.
everyone that has never been to the track seem to think that just cause you are a big guy, you need a big bike, its not the case. you can have just as much fun on a 600 and if ridden the way it ment to be, you hardly need the big bikes unless you are on Daytona

need tires (take offs)? PM me
need a deal on a track day? PM me
disclaimer: I sell used tires (take-offs), these tires have been used at Jennings, Homestead, etc. (road courses for those that dont know) therefor these tires are more used up on the sides than in the middle,

I am about the same build as you from what you say. I own a zx14 and if you have any control can be a good bike for people are size, we are large enough it doesnt wheelie unless you really gas on it. But i do ride my girls gsxr600 all the time with no issues but we bought the 06 that way it didn't have that selector heard bad and good things about it but figured i would just make it less complicated for her. Also gear the front down it will feel better for you just don't shift youre weight back and hit the gas.
