Friends remember man who died while chasing robber

Jason Demarzian, 25, died while chasing a robbery suspect. HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- Friends of a Bradenton man who was killed while chasing a robber remember him as a man who would help anyone.


Jason Demarzian, 25, was pursuing a robbery suspect on his motorcycle outside a Town 'n' Country pharmacy Wednesday. The motorcycle hit an SUV which was pulling out onto Hillsborough Avenue.


"He was a good man," said Demarzian's girlfriend, Jennifer Hernandez. "I loved him to death and his son loves him to death."
The couple had a 3-year-old son together.


"That's Jay," Hernandez said. "Willing to drop what he was doing to help somebody out. Just him and the whole accident thing happened so sudden. I just don't think it's real still."


Investigators said the robber stole prescription drugs from a woman who was leaving the pharmacy. The robber took off in a car driven by an accomplice and Demarzian took off after the car.


Those who knew Demarzian said he never hesitated to help people. Demarzian was at the pharmacy because he was accompanying a friend who had a medical appointment at the clinic where the pharmacy is located.
Hernandez said she may never get over Demarzian's death, but she vows to raise their son right.


"Just keep my head up and keep going for him," she said. "Just for Jason, because that's how he would want me to be, strong."
Another friend of Demarzian, Travis Vizzini, ran out of the clinic trying to find him.


"He was well loved by everyone," Demarzian said. "I went to go outside and they said, 'Your friend just took off after him.' I said, 'Where did he go?' And a lady told me he got hit by a car."


The suspect vehicle is a tan Honda four-door sedan with tinted windows. Investigators said the robber is a bearded man in his 20s, and his accomplice is a woman in her 50s with long blonde hair.

This is sad, i agree, but just what are you going to do once you get up to this car? If your armed you can open fire (and go to jail) but if your not your completely useless untill the car stop's and im pretty sure following a car on a sportbike was not the low-profile aproch.

It's like police bike's... Fucking backup's for when the CARS do the pit and the guy is on foot. Bikes are not good for chasing, just good for leading the chase

But like everyone has said, very sad... and for all that shit over some pill's? hope this guy (whoever it was) quits while there ahead and realizes drug's arent worth it.

My roommate told me about this last night. He was talking to this guy at a light about 2 hrs before he crashed. He was at Supercuts right their on Hills. when it happened. He heard the guy get on it and then the smash a sec. later.
