I was told that you do not need insurance for a crotch rocket if you are wearing a helmet...is this true? im buying a 08 suzuki GSX R1000

Bikes are extremely easy to steal, if for no other reason than this you should get insurance.

^+1....from the looks of it you should do anything but buy an 08 1000....maybe like a 92 600 would suit you better On a serious note, if you don't have a lot of riding experience under your belt than don't go near anything bigger than a 600.

umm yeah research more before buying a bike. no you dont need insurance, my gf just bought a 07 zx-6r with a loan ad they didnt require her to have insurance...your dumb if you dont. most new riders drop the bike, many get stolen, many get wrecked and dont say it wont happen to you because it will end up being the 1st thing that does happen. if you wreck it you still have to pay for a pile of metal that is completely useless.
