I had the same problem with my throttle as well. I took the housing apart that connected to the throttle and found chunks of silicone or something that were sprayed in there. I cleaned them out, cleaned off the old grease, regreased it with new good stuff, made sure everything was in the grooves properly, and everything worked fine from there. Pretty much dissassemble, clean, and reassemble it.

Not sure how much it'll apply to your bike, but I figured I'd try to offer ya some help. Good luck with it. Glad to see you started with something sensible to learn on.

yeah, i screwed them all up. had two, deleated one, didnt add it the second one. but yeah, im pretty glad i chose the 250 too cause ive driven dirtbikes and this is actually very similar. Ive driven the r6's and gixers but not for me yet. plus i dont even want the temptation of speeding with that new 30 over law.

every bike I've ever had, has been slow to return on its own. even my 06 off the show room floor... just learn to twist it back.

I don't even notice it anymore.

Maybe with it being a 250 it doesnt have enough power to even throttle down?

really? I've always been able to stand beside my bike and blip the throttle and it rev and go tback to idle fairly quickly without needing to roll it there. The throttle tubes usually get gunk packed between them, just take the throttle off the handle bar and clean it well. BTW, the 'silicone' shit you saw BAMF was most likely grip glue from the last persons install of the grips. If you arent careful you get that ish gunked between the throttle tube and handlebar and its gets all naRsty. While you have the throttle off take the time to lube the throttle cable. Take some chain lube (if you dont have this go get some meow ) and squirty a bit onto the bare cable and try to get it to flow down inside the sheathing. Then work the cable in and out with your hands and keep applying more chain lube. Your trying to get the lube to go all the down the cable the best you can. If you wanna get technical you can remove the entire cable and itll make it easier but thats another hour of fing with shit to get to the other side of it probably

If that doesnt work, just jizz on it, should lube it right up.
