Croom 4-Wheeler Excursion - 3/15/2008 *pics*
Took the wife and two youngest kids out to Croom this past weekend.
We had a blast!
Lot's of great weather and plenty of fun stuff to explore / conquer on the 4-wheelers.
We had a few mishaps along the way, nothing that required medical attention.
Lot's of mud-slingin, trail-blazin, tree-climbing & pit-crawlin!
Good times indeed.
Here's a few pics, thanks to our designated photographer (aka: mom)

One of the consequences of such notions as "entitlements" is that people who have contributed nothing to society feel that society owes them something, apparently just for being nice enough to grace us with their presence.”

I just went out to Croom for the first time last week- riding a dirt bike instead of an ATV. It's a neat place. We're very lucky to have the only designated off-road motorsports park in the state 45 minutes north by interstate.
How is it riding those quads compared to a dirt bike? All I know is that I got tired of riding the "whoops" on the quad trails on a dirt bike in about 30 seconds before hopping off on the nearest single track. I'm guessing they're a lot more fun on a quad or else why would every quad trail have them non-stop?

Those utility quads take all the fun out of getting muddy..lol And whoops suck a lot worse on quads the suspension on dirtbike suck up the bumps a lot better either way I try to avoid them. And where is the tree's of shame anyhow.

Looks like good fun to me... I am thinking about picking up a dirt bike or quad to go play around on, but I am not sure what to get as I have not ridden dirt since I was a kid. Any advice on dirt bike vs. sport utility quad vs. sport quad?
Bikes are IMHO the most fun individually, or with a group of skilled riders in a conducive environment.
We went with utility (4X4) quads this time because we are using them for off-road / trail riding often times in uncharted areas where we end up making our own paths.
The sport quads are fast, but not really of interest to me nor capable to do the things we set out to do the 4X4's.
The 4X4 quads allow us the go just about anywhere, and typically, we are not in a rush..... it's all about enjoying the ride, terrain & company.
There are several of us that go out and have a great time on the 4X4 4-wheelers.
Kids, Adults, Teenagers..... we all have a blast out in the woods on the quads.
So, it really depends on what you want to do.

It depends on where you plan to ride and what you want to do.

Though I've changed the fluids and done the basic maintenance on the Polaris, I would not mind getting an official tech to ensure the valves and what not are still in adjustment.
and I may be looking to pick up another 4-wheeler or side-by-side in the near future.

Looks like a good time! I was out there this weekend also. camped out with my family and some friends of ours. Lotsa of mud! Not so good for the LTZ!
Nick, The tree of shame is east of the pavillion/bathrooms towards the back of the park. Give me a shout when you want to hit Croom.
