Aprilia to make RSV4 for 2009 model year
V4?? The thing should sound sick. I wonder if this motor shares any similarity to the gp motor they use currently.

The future is only getting better for European sportbike enthusiasts. With the current onslaught of exotic looking big-bore sportbikes like Ducati's 1098, MV's F4R and KTM's soon-to-be-released RC8, the boys from Noale, Italy are about to enter the new age with their replacement to the long in the tooth V-Twin powered RSV1000R.
Enter the all-new RSV 4, Aprilia's new liter-class superbike. The RSV 4 was released today, February 22, 2008, to 1,200 dealers at the International Piaggio Group Convention in Milan, Italy.
The machine's heart will be a compact, 65-degree V-Four (the company's first production four-cylinder engine), designed completely in-house by Aprilia's R&D department. The Italian company claims that the new engine was designed specifically for superbike competition, a racing segment that Aprilia has yet to have captured a major world championship in.
The bike will utilize advanced electronics and engine management technologies including a ride-by-wire system that will allow the engine to put out over 200-horsepower in race trim. The liberal use of high-end materials and electronic technologies will allow them to maximize both ride-ability and overall power output.
We can expect the RSV 4 to make its road debut later this year. Aprilia projects the bike to make its way to U.S. dealers in 2009 with a goal of it entering AMA Superbike competition in 2010. Aprilia has yet to release any pricing details.

Aprilia only races 125 and 250 cc GP's....they are 2 cycle single cylinder motors...
Aprilia has never made a V4.....
The bike looks the complete business, and ive been drooling over the concept for at least 3 years....but the price will be in the twenties.....

Im hoping they will try and compete with the 1098 in pricing. If they could sell these for about the same i bet it would fly out of the dealership
