Hey, I have been looking for an older cbr and today I thought I found the perfect one on craigslist. it was a 95 f3 with only 11,xxx miles and in pretty good shape for 2k.

I call the guy, agree on a price $1,xxx and he says he will deliver since it has no tag or anything. He calls me back 5 minutes later and says someone else offered him $1,900. now im thinking great i just missed out on an awesome deal for being so cheap to not spend the extra $$$. 20 minutes later he calls me up and says the offer is on the table because the other guy was trying to scam him or something. so of course i say yes bring it over. on to the good part...

He gets here, I test ride the bike, its everything he said it was and looks pretty good. so we go inside and i get the title from him and go outside to match the vin up. and guess what! It matched just right, except the bike said 95 and the title said 93. I call the cops and they send a guy out and he comes out and checks it out and runs it through the system and everything is good. no clue why the guy would change the sticker to a 95 when(could see that he cut the bottom of the sticker and pasted the 95 on there) it was actually a 93'.

Ok so I decided I still wanted it since the cops said it was good and all, and still a great price at 1,xxx I think even for a 93, and it does have f3 plastics on it.

Ok if you actually read all that, it makes the pictures even better. I know its no cherry, but since my R6 got stolen this blows any car out of the water for transportation.

You might want to look into that engine.. if he was going through that much trouble on the title.. you may want to see what kind of wear is on the engine. That Odometer may not be a correct reading.

hey, ya the engine is getting looked at this weekend. im having the carbs flushed and cleaned. I rode it to work today and it was a little sluggish in the low rpms but it felt normal once i got above like 5k. thanks for the concern, hopefully i'll be riding it to school on monday.

 

Doesn't look like a 93 F2 to me.The dash doesn't look anything like my 93.

Looks he he swaped the entire front end, forks, rotors, calipers from a F3.

If it is indeed a legit/legal 1993 F2 frame, I'd say it was a stolen F3 that he totally swapped over onto a legit F2 frame.
