too much oil?
my bike calls for 3 1/2 quarts of oil. since i do a lot of wheelies is it bad to put all 4 quarts in? i know i used to do it when i first got the bike but stopped after the second oil change because i saw a little bit of oil on the velocity stacks.
i rememeber a time i was walking home from school. on my way there i passed a hooker who offered to blow me for 5$. to this day i wish i wouldnt have turned her down as prices have almost quadrupled in a matter of 6yrs. i wish i would have bought stock in hookers. dam microsoft
too much oil can be as bad as not having enough, idk what yamahas situation on oil pickup is but i know the newer suzukis have no prob up on one and still getting oil

hmmmm considering the oil pan was baffled to gurantee oil pick up at all lean angles. im sure aslong as your at the top notch with the bike centered, unlike some of the master techs on here and other sites i have seen that do it with the bike on the kickstand. im sure your fine. if the motor lets go then fuck we'll build a 2 stroke 1k.

I would use what Yamaha say's.. Just use a good oil and keep it fresh..
I know McCoy racing has a kit to spray oil on the clutches.. maybe look into that.. that would help clutch life..

Like Tony said, it can be worse to have too much oil sometimes than not enough. If you're running a synthetic it might not be a big deal to put a little extra in, but synthetic oil will burn off quicker than conventional oil. But like everyone has already said, the bikes these days are manufactured to be on one wheel and they designed everything right, so just put in what the manufacturer recomends and call it a day.
i wouldnt put 4qt's in but i would put just a tiny bit extra in just for shits. like 3.65 maybe.

thanks everyone. i put a little over 3 1/2 in. so i'll be fine. switched over to amsoil and man my shifts are so much smoother and from what the dealer tells me i dont have to do an oil change but every 6 thousand miles.
lol fuck that, you ride your bike hard... 3k miles tops and change the oil, dont go cheap and you wont be dealing with a headache later on...
