RK links on a DID chain?

A friend of mine needs to add a couple links to his DID chain. I have links from a brand new RK that was too long. Can we use those links to extend his chain? I've used a DID master link on an RK chain and it seemed to work without a hitch.

If the width is the same and the pins are the same diameter then it will work. Otherwise it will possibly cause a kink where the two brands meet and that can be dangerous ie;chain can come apart causing damage to the bike or you!
