If you've ever seen the guy on television talking about his life and the shit he's done you can tell he's not the nicest guy ever. You expect some churchgoing mr. mom to be doing the crazy bullshit that he did? He was an interesting person and lead a pretty cool life, and no one can take that from him IMO... so come the fuck on, give the man a break and the respect he deserves.
