Default Prediction for the future...

I think at some point in the next 10-20 years, with gas prices as they are and only getting worse. All these v-8 muscle cars / big trucks / hummers etc etc will start to fade out, if they are not already, and within the next 20 years, the vast majority of people will own either, a moped, a streetbike, or a very very fuel efficent hybrid to get around on the roads with. With this change will bring change to our bike laws , price of bikes etc etc. and our traffic system may end up looking like europe's (ALOT MORE BIKES/ MOPEDS). witch would not be a bad move. But with change in laws and probably alot more people starting to ride, they may require insurance etc etc down the road.

I think its the way for the government to get rid of the ideots/ bad drivers

but anyways, what you guys predict is gonna happen to the whole motorcycle industry in the near future. cause i dunno about you guys, but i want to invest in some stock. get rid of your ford stock and put it into kawasaki hahaha.

fuck yes. there are not nearly enough bike shops in the tampa / st pete area. you would do pretty well i think, just because of lack of options.

Not feasable on 2 wheels, really.

A new 250 Honda cruiser will get over 80MPG. Sounds like a plan to me. But you sportbike boys are gonna find less and less 2-stroke, 16k RPM crotch rockets to choose from at that point.

I think you are right that more and more people will want to ride motorcycles and/or scooters as daily drivers as gas prices go up. I have already had two people I work with ask me what it is like commuting on a bike because they are thinking of getting one due to spending too much commuting in their SUVs. I just wonder how practical it will be for people that do not live in places that are warm year round. I can't see someone in New York replacing their car with a bike to save money on gas when there is two feet of snow on the ground.

Gas prices was one reason I wanted a bike in the first place but quickly took a back seat as I began riding endless miles for fun!

Oh, I didn't know that. I don't keep up so much on what bike has what in it.

Still, you'll see less badasses out there. Why stuff a liter in a GSXR anymore when a 250 with all the same styling cues getting far better fuel economy will attract the growing demographic audience who need to save on gas but don't want to be caught dead riding a homo-scooter.

I predict things on 2-wheels become tame, in the same fashion it is in places where gas is riduclous right now. I just don't think the general american public will fag out and go buy scooters as frequently as they do overseas. Afterall, AMERICA, FUCK YEAH!!!!!!
