Naw. I used their bikes. Only thing I had issues with was the figure 8 u-turn. That part sucked.

I bought my bike, then signed up for the class. Had classroom work on a Wednesday, the bike came in that Friday and pop's picked it up for me, then Saturday and Sunday was my riding classes and the first time I ever rode a bike.

My bike came stock with 13" mini-apes on it, about 6 months later I put the 18"s apes on.

 

first time ever on a bike was at the msf, besides sitting on em at barneys.

Passed it with what came out as a c or a 70 something? dont know how there scores go now, maybe its changed since 2004.

 

Alot people don't pass it on there first time.I did only because i practiced it a couple times when no one was on it.The practicing and watching someone else take it to see how it was done does wonders!

 

i did the msf, some of the testing areas are designed to make you fail so the state just gets money from you...

got a 100% on both written and driving portions of the MSF test, if you cant pass that test btw... you should go to the MSF class and learn something about handling a bike at slowspeeds, it'll make a world of difference in your overall riding.

 

yeah, but if your already doing the "slow race" and like manuvers with your friends to see who pays for the beer, you prolly already know what they where going to teach you

 

lol, yeah.. i learned from pasco county motor squad on how to handle big bikes at slow speeds but even so, going to MSF was nice and alot of the people i went with learned alot and realized that theres more to riding a bike than just looking cool or thinking that you came out of your mothers vagina with a motorcycle key in your hand and the doctor told you that you can ride a bike! lol

 

^ tru story IMO if you cant pass the riding test TAKE THE MSF COURSE for christ's sake! My friend who thinks he's mr all cool on a street bike failed the slow tests, you wanna know something? That numb nut has been down 3 times now, how? Rookie fucking mistakes like not looking through a corner and target fixating on the side of the road. Guess which direction he went? People who think they are Rossi on their bikes after 2 months of 'riding' around town need a wake up call, speed does and proves absolutely NOTHING. Any fucking jackass can grab a handful of throttle...cool, your bike will take y ou to 180mph, thats neat, but happens when its time to turn? /rant

I tell all my friends who want bikes ( they like the speed and sex appeal ) that they are deffinatly not toys. I tell them all to go as slow as possible and progress slowly to the more agressive riding style turning etc etc.

It ushually ends up how i did. i bought my first bike at 16, non of my friends at my age had bikes so i was like the first of my kind. only cause my mom was cool enough to respect my wishes. Fliped the bike over the handlebars the FIRST WEEK!

Learned my panic braking lesson.

Then a year later was into wheelies, etc etc. Fliped one, and learned my stunt riding lesson.

Now, when i ride i ushually use my head and ride pretty safe. its a shame it took 4 years and a bunch of crashes i was fortunate enough to live though to get it to sink in.

I feel horrable for the ones that where not as fortunate as me who end up in a box surounded by there family wearing all black. They should have been able to learn a diffrent way. one that keeps them alive. I think thats why i preach gear and slowing down so much now.

 

This is gonna sound stupid but wtf are monkey bars ? I'm just kinda tryin' to brush up on the bike stuff because here in a few months I should be getting one. Thanks.
