Default Prepping my bike for the track

Im doing a Track day the 22nd at Putnam Park Indiana.

I checked some places to prep my bike for a race and they wanted anywhre from 100-170 due to the time involved.

I would like to do this myself!

How do I tape off the lights, what do I use, Im assuming I dont just ducktape the whole lights, is there special film that I can buy?

Any Helpful hints would be good! Or else ill just have to pay to make sure its done right and they wont deny me to race!!!

Does this track require safety wiring? Water only in coolant? Need more info.

Yes ductape on the lights. I used a large vynil sticker on mine last time but it was a bitch to get it to curve.

Just use duct tape. Homedepot, Lowes and auto parts stores even have colored ones.

Personally, I doubt they'll even check the coolant. Draining isnt much as a problem then filling and getting out air bubbles, but even thats no big deal.

I would use scotch's blue painters tape instead of duct tape it peels off easy with no residue.

please just go to the jenningsgp.com forum and search.
your are asking the wrong people about this.
if all else fails pm me your number and get a piece of paper and a pen.
also tampa sport bikes .com has a fresh list up in the track forum.

duct tape? hell no. you can use the blue scotch tape but it kinda looks like ass when you buy your photo's. use electrical tape. tape off the front headlights and the rear brake light. disconnect the fuses to your headlights. dont worry about the tail light it doesnt get hot enough or bright enough to effect the electrical tape.

take your rearsets off or pull tie them. ok your done have fun.

when you take the tape off use goof off or goo gone to get rid of the residue. oh and im assuming you already know this, take your license plate crap off.

Danny... use painters tape on your head & tail lights, then put duct tape over it... it will be easier to remove this way... remove your fuses for your headlights & taillights... this will make sure the glue on the tape isn't cooked on to the lenses...

Looks like they want all water & no coolant in your cooling system... but do they check for this?

Remove your mirrors & use painters tape on all your blinkers if you dont want to remove them.

take off the tag.

Your kick stand is optional... but not needed if you have a rear spool or swing arm stand.
