Default Old Japanese bikes never die.

I've been working on my old Yamaha getting her ready to start. She hasn't run in 15 years.

I've gone through the carbs, and removed the rust from the tank. I also rebuilt the petcock. I figured it would not be an easy process to start her. I was wrong. I gave her some choke and pressed the starter. The old girl started right up immediatly. It didn't turn over for more than a second before it fired up. I couldn't believe it.

I think an old friend was helping me from above.

She need some tweeks, but nothing major. Motor sounds tight. I just have some carb issues to figure out. Seems the longer I ran it the rougher she got. I'll probably have to pull the carbs again because I think some crud got in them.

I'll keep you all updated on the progress.

Nothing feels better than eating your hot/corn dog, or cheesesteak and drinking your ice cold Blue Moon beer in your bandana and HD jacket, while at the same time eating next to a big rusted pile of japanese motorcycles and feeling better than that because you're riding a real piece of "american muscle".

When my dad had a HD i bought him some things for it for his birthday (from HD) and I found it rather interesting that the majority of it was made in Malaysia. Thinking a harley is better because it's american is ludacris. Everything that everyone makes, now, is outsourced. It goes farther than motorcycles too... cars, trucks, suvs. I understand that people have different styles of motorcycles that they like but being closed minded just puts you 50 years back... hell, instead of saying how bad jap bikes are, go really old school and talk about how much you hate the Indian

lol... yeah I know Kuryakin and Harley share several plants (at least thats what the HD guys told me). I'm a HD fan because I prefer the sound, the looks and the comfort factor.

As for the cars, Mazda and Ford have several vehicles right off the same line. Mitsubishi made the Stealth for Dodge... and I know there are alot more.

Indian's were suprisingly a really good book for their time.

I like the first paragraph also.

My Harley neighbor comes over and breaks my balls about my old "Jap" bike. Every weekend all I hear is this guy revving his motor. The guy has been trying to get his carbs right for months now.

I told him we'll race for $100 when the bike is running good. I'm going to bust some Harley ass on a 27 year old 550.
