what makes fork seals go bad ?

They can dry rot, or get damaged from debris as well... it is a part that can wear out as well...

damn i never had a set go bad this fast. I must have gotten some road grime in them or somthin
always set down easy and never leave it in the sun must be crap in there causing it to leak.
guess ill learn to put seals in it ,hopefully it does'nt eat them often
any one else had this problem ?

You'll probably need a new tool or two if it's for the bike on the left. RTM did a set for a friend recently for a great price. It's best of you can take them the forks, the new seals, and fresh fork oil all at once.

a buddy said there not to hard and i could do them myself
as far as special tools i dunno
OH im gonna do them myself i may have to go to suncoast to have a part pressed,unscrewed,loosened,or fitted if its special
but you know the cost i'll deal with it myself

inspect the forks really close, I have seen forks leak due to pitting caused by gravel being thrown from other bikes when riding behind someone really close. you will see the pits or scars on the fork tube.

if that is the problem, you can try to buff them out with emery cloth if they are not too deep

disclaimer: I sell used tires (take-offs), these tires have been used at Jennings, Homestead, etc. (road courses for those that dont know) therefor these tires are more used up on the sides than in the middle,
