looking for mechanic
my friend has a 11yr old BMW and it's a R1100 which has 30,000 miles. He said it has a weird noise and my best deduction after listening and fooling with it,I thought it was a clutch throw out bearing making noise, when the clutch is engaged the noise goes away. The bad part is I don't know anything about bikes(give me DSMs or SRT4s-lol) and to make it worst is this bike has no chain, it has a transmission. I figured the best advice I could give him is to point him to someone who know about this stuff and Steve came highly recommended but now I can't find him, I copied this from 1 of my prior posts...

theres a BMW shop somewheres around tampa area. I passed it one day on my way to whatever the hell that road is everyone always wads up on thats supposed to be 'the shit'. I would call and just talk to a mechanic over the phone. Does he have a shop manual? Maybe pick on up or do some googling and find one for download like on a BMW forum
Usually they have troubleshooting guides in the front or back, but im not sure if this would be described in there. Yeah there is no chain, its shaft driven, but the principals behind the tranny and clutch are most likely the same to that of sport bikes and other motorcycles.
