Beware Of Rtm
Brian over at rtm must not have a clue about mtorcycles nor customer service it seems.This guy rolls into pure acceleration and he has oil all over his bike and leaking badly.
Well he just left RTM. He proceeds to explain his problem.He had them fix his shift linkage.Well they didn't put a gasket on the clutch cover.They put some kinda glue on it that didn't hold at all for one.They then lost the bolts to his windscreen and zip tied it back on.The best part is they every charged him an extra 20 bux to install his fairings.He tells us he argued with brian and brian told him they didn't have any gaskets so they just glued it on.
Well he brought it to frank and frank helped him and let him use the tools at the shop to fix his bike the right way since RTM doesn't know how too.Soo here are some pics and buyer beware

Keep in mind this bike is my only transportation at the moment and I made that painfully obvious every time I called. Now I understand on a back ordered part you can't be sure on it's arrival date, so why did they make those guarantees? Fast forward to Thursday, the part is in but Brian didn't call me to tell me. I had to call over to RTM myself even though he promised he would let me know the moment it arrived. So I'm happy the part is at least there and he says it will be done and ready to go the next day. So it does get done finally. I get there at about 4:30PM and they are still working on it. Even though they are working on it Brian immediately launches into how I should have come earlier to pick it up. Seems odd...considering they aren't even done yet. Maybe it's because he saw me walk in with my side plastics and a new windscreen. I didn't know it took an hour and a half to put on a windscreen and fairing..especially since I was going to do it myself in the first place. He says..."I thought you were a mechanic man" mockingly "If you need us to put the fairings back on we'll have to charge you". I actually just left the fairings and clutch cover off because I thought it would cut down on the labor for them. So I ask how much to put the fairings on: "20 bucks and a bit more if you want that windscreen put on". I say I can do it myself and he responds with "What? are you going to work on your bike in our parking lot?" making it seem like that was a ****ing sin for me to put my plastics back on myself before I leave the place. I guess he wants me to **** up my radiator with a stray rock so I can come back and get that worked on too. At this point my ride up to RTM needed to leave for a hot date, so I let him go on his way and I agreed to pay to have the fairings/screen put on for lack of necessary tools and no transportation back home. They didn't want to lend me any tools so what was I to do. Here's where shit gets even better, I removed the reserve coolant reservoir before we took it up there and Brian asks ME to show the mechanic how to hook it back up...citing that I took it off so I should know how to put it back on. Well Brian, shouldn't your semi retarded mechanics know how to put a god damn reservoir back on a bike? The "Mechanic" didn't even know where to connect the coolant hose...to the ****ing main coolant reservoir. Then they take my old windscreen off and I get escorted back out to the front of the store because "you can't hang out back here". Sorry Brian I thought I was showing your mechanic how to do his job. So after they completely remove my old screen they come back out and are holding one of the old screws telling me how they can't be re used. They don't have any that will fit my screen either. They then proceed to use zip ties to secure it down. Don't you guys think they should know that they can't re use those old bolts before they tear all of them off? Yes they charged me for putting zip ties on. My total for the day according to Brian was $274 and some odd cents, in my haste I made the mistake of not checking the receipt and it was actually for 247 dollars. So I wonder, did Brian just pocket the extra money for himself? No one called telling me they took too much money. Losing that money was my own fault, but it's still dishonest. At this point I just want to leave ASAP and never deal with these ****ers again, because my main problem was fixed...too bad the worst is yet to come. I get going finally....pissed off obviously. I get on the highway and ride all the way back to Apollo beach. On the way I notice my rear break isn't really responding at all. When I get off I pull into the 7-11 and low and behold, something is leaking really badly. Smoke is billowing out around me and liquid is dripping onto the pavement. My tires, swing arm and rear breaks are totally covered. You can see in the pic where there is a pool of oil on the rim. At first I thought it was coolant leaking because my reserve coolant reservoir was EMPTY. Later I come to find it's oil leaking from the clutch/crank case. So yeah, the ****ers didn't even top off my coolant. What caused the oil to leak is they used some cheap ass Liquid Gasket. Not only did they do a poor job applying it, but they failed to mention it to me. I had to call the next day and confirm with Brian that it was indeed liquid gasket..hey at least he didn't lie to me about that right?!?! I just can't understand why they didn't mention that it needed a gasket when I brought the bike in without the old one installed. I mean shit, I could have avoided this by getting one made (15 bucks at Barney's) myself GOD FORBID they have one ready for my bike since it was there for two and a half weeks. I just thought that a shop would be smarter than that and have one either ready or have one made at a cost to me. I didn't even get that courtesy, if you want to call that a courtesy.
So to sum it up, these guys are lazy and incompetent. I think it's common knowledge how shitty a liquid gasket is, especially when it gets heated up super hot. You'd think they would have mentioned that they didn't have a REAL gasket for my clutch case so they or I could remedy that simple yet IMPERATIVE issue. Not only did it put my life in jeopardy but we ended up having to do a lot of work at Pure Acceleration that just shouldn't have had to of been done.
My thanks goes out to Side Show, Fictionn and Frank once again for all their kindness. I'd be up shits creek if it weren't for them. Everyone go check out Frank's shop in Brandon! He's one of the few truly friendly and honest guys around and he seems to surround himself with other people who share that trait.
