Default help m e out bike tech!

dropped my bike off at yamaha today and told them to put a set of 2ct's on. well right before 6 they call me and tell me they dont have any in stock they only have regular pilot powers. ive never ran them so i dont know how good of a tire they are compared to the 2ct.

now i was told that the 2ct's are hard in the middle but shit they didnt last any longer then my dunlop so i was like wtf?!?!? still had a nice flat spot on her and i dont even do any burnouts.

i was thinkin about maybe going with qualifiers. any recomendations?

to my understanding 2cts have the same "middle" harndess as regular PP's they just have softer edges.

I would get the PP for the street, and they wont last any longer than the 2ct cause the 2ct only have a 20% softer edge about 1 inch wide...

IMO the PP is a great tire... it's my fav tire. Quick turn in, plenty of grip & quick warm up time...

I put them on when new and get to the edge of the tire without having to ease into it... not that I recommend that you do that, just letting you know how confident I am of the PP...

I don't expect this to be a popular post, but if I was wearing out the middle of Pilot Powers before the edges, then I'd probably buy a harder, more mileage oriented tire. Soft compound tires like the Qualifiers and Pilot Powers are desirable because of their amazing lateral grip. Clearly you aren't using that part of the tire much and would probably be happier with the extended tire life offered by a Pilot Road or other similar tire.

i got the powers today. seems pretty nice so far. i havent gotten around to lowering the tire pressure to my desirable settings ( 32/34) but i could not ride any other tire then a softer compound tire. i dont ride twisties as much as i used to but when i do id like to know the grip is there when i need it.
