Two charged with street racing in Clearwater
Friday, June 8, 2007
A motorcyclist and another driver face street racing charges after an incident on Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard near the Clearwater Mall about noon Friday.
A Clearwater police officer said he saw the two racing by him and attempted to pull over the motorcycle. The cyclist took off, so the officer pulled over the driver of a Mustang. While he was ticketing the Mustang's driver, the officer saw the motorcycle hit another car.
The motorcycle, a 2001 Yamaha, was listed as stolen out of Georgia and driver of the motorcycle had a suspend license. The motorcycle driver, Eugene Allen, 27, is charged with one count of street racing, one count of fleeing and eluding, one count of grand theft, one count of driving with a license suspended or revoked, and one count of drug possession.
The Mustang's driver, Raymond Pittzer, 41, of Thonotosassa, is charge with one count of street racing.
The man whose car was hit, Kurt Thomas 45, of Texas, was driving a rental car. He was not injured.

damn... you would think he would have let the car guy go and go to the crash site but oh well.
sucks for the driver, street racing tickets are no joke these days and are almost worse than the other things the bike guy is charger with. well maybe not grand theft but close.
