Mesh / Textile
I have all three types of jackets. My leather jacket is perforated and as long as I'm moving is quite comfortable even in hot weather. My textile jacket (Black Joe Rocket Meteor 4) is the warmest of the three. It only gets used on days when I should probably leave the bike at home anyway.
My dad went down while wearing my mesh jacket. He didn't hit to much pavement, mostly ditch. The jacket held up reasonably well, that doesn't really speak to abrasion resistance of course.
In Florida, air flow is king. Perforated leather seems to be a good compromise between protection and comfort for me.
