Three men were arrested in the Winter Park area Monday after a Florida Highway Patrol trooper followed a stolen motorcycle's security beacon to a trove of stolen vehicles.
A device in Trooper Richard Tullis' car picked up on the Lojack signal at about 3:30 p.m. from a black 2006 Suzuki motorcycle, said Florida Highway Patrol spokeswoman Trooper Kim Miller. It guided him to United Stor-All, a storage facility on South Semoran Boulevard near Hanging Moss Road. Tullis found a total of three motorcycles, two stolen pickup trucks, methamphetamines, welding torches and scores of other items.
Investigators believe the trucks were used to haul trailers that the suspects used to steal motorcycles. The storage unit was being used as a "chop shop," where stolen vehicles were being taken apart and sold for parts, Miller said.
Brandon Halecki, 28, Jason L. Reaves, 29, and Robert J. McKinney, 33, were booked into Orange County Jail on counts of grand theft, operating a chop shop, and possession of methamphetamines.
Monday's incident was the third time this year that troopers followed motorcycle security beacons to chop shops, Miller said.

One of the consequences of such notions as "entitlements" is that people who have contributed nothing to society feel that society owes them something, apparently just for being nice enough to grace us with their presence.”
