Thank god for.....(oh i lived)
my helmet, jacket and gloves.
popped my crash cherry tonight....and it wasnt any my fault....
turned south on to macdill off of gandy and get up to the speed limit. theres a pickup coming and she does a " hay i need to stop at CVS" and pulls across into my lane. I brake and the brakes lock up , she goes down and i let go of her. im on my palms and then my reading habit tips kick in and i roll to my back and bring my arms in tumble a little. i get up and she looks at me and says
"sorry"
i do a self check ( no damage ) and then call my dad...im cussing im mad and then my savior comes. guy driving a pick-up with a bike in the back shows up and helps me take it home. we left into and out of the back....
never did make it to patterson today.....
the damage : left rear set gone. fairings dont ask.....crank case cover hole drained the oil out...
so what you think? sorry no pics

Glad you're OK. Did you contact the police to report the driver? I don't know how the law works in this situation but from your description it sounds like she should be liable for your accident. It's good to hear about gear doing it's job.
indeed you got off lucky, good thing you had your gear on saved on injuries, all i know is that the lady in the truck would have some exterior panel damage as well....
its amazing what a well placed boot or carbon knuckled glove will do!
