The only car oil to watch out for is enegery conserving as it has moly and other addatives in it that are bad for clutches, otherwise you can use car oil.

As for the Fram filter, Ive also ate at McDonnalds 5 times in my life time and didnt gain a pound.....

awww, Im glad you're soo sympathetic for us, thanks. Like I said, Valv. 10w-30 in EVERY vehicle I own and I have NEVER had a problem with clutches not liking it or motors. I say the most important thing, more so than the brand of oil or what it was recommended for, is REGULAR MAINTENANCE.

What makes Fram filters bad? i've been using them in my car for 40k miles ... and what other filters are out there to buy lol? Cause i've never seen any other brands unless you buy from the dealer, and F that.

I'm not sticking up for the filters, i'm concerned and want to know why they're bad and what i should use instead

Not sure if that carries over to their bikes. I know their filters are the same material for the bike and car ones, so I dont see why not.

If your wondering about Fram check out these sites.

Motorcycle Oil Filter Comparison

Motorcycle Oil Filters & Air Filters

You can also google fram and im sure come up with many people saying they would never put them on their vehicle. I am one of them! I will run a supertech (walmart brand) before id touch a Fram.

ok so royal purple is out of the question now. i used straight synthetic before and for some odd reason my oil light would come on for like ten seconds at a time from time to time. it was kinda odd, since then ive been using a synthetic blend 10/40 i beleive and hadnt had any problems.

i have been using yamalube everytime, but seriously if theres no difference in motorcycle oil and car oil then why am i spending ten bucks a quart? i honestly think motorcycle companies are just stickin thier name on some regular oil and uppin the price. if so is this amsol cheaper? is it car oil as well?

Amsoil's like $9/Qt. You can get a yearly "Prefered Customer" account from them for like $30-$40/year and that knockes the price down to $6/qt. At my place we use it in 2 bikes, my car and and F-350 Turbo Diesel... So getting the membership saves alot of money.

If you talk to George at OilHelp.com/FreeOilAdvice.com he's helped pretty much everyone on the Relocate site and hooked them all up with damn good prices.

http://oilhelp.com/motorcycle/harleyvsamsoil/g391.pdf is their Motorcycle Product.

Personally I just pick up a case or so at a time when I had to Webster for the swap meet and get the Prefered Customer price there, or the guy there will mail it to me if I give him a call.

And Amsoil makes oil for all vehicles.
