Wouldn't it be kindy an ify thing that they cancel out sound and on top of that are outputting sound. Can you still hear horns, sirens and stuff like that while riding on the bike? As in, not when your stopped? I'd assume so but just want to make sure

I use helmet speakers, it is way easier and it is legal since there is nothing in your ear. Also for $20.00 it will not brake the bank. Here is a link to the site that sells them and they are on ebay also just type in helmet speakers.

I can hear sirens, horns and traffic sounds just fine. The earplugs xncl out the white noise and let me keep the volume very low on the music. I can actually hear the world better with these than with the old earbugs I had where I had to blast the volume full bore to hear the music.

These actually look like they'd do the trick, and i like how they have the female end after the speakers so i don't have to always have a wire dangling out of the helmet. How do they work with the wind and all?

They work great, you can hear what is going on around you and even when you get up to speed you can still hear the music.

i like the idea of the earplug earphones. When you listen to music when you ride you really want to get 'in the zone', just the music, the empty curvy country roads, and your machine ripping down the pavement. Wind noise is distracting and sucks, the same drone of the engine gets old (okay not really cause who's engine 'drones' ), it would be more like starring in your own first person riding video. HewhoisCD is right about earplugs not canceling out "important" noises, when I shoot at the range and whatnot you can talk and have conversation with people and even hear some background noises, it just keeps out 'static' sound and softens the loudness. <--- I dunno, but that sounded good ya?

On the plus side, the speaker kind would be completely legal Problem I had when I went that route, is that I still wanted to wear earplugs to keep down the wind noise. Which meant I had to play the music very loud through the helmet speakers to hear it, without going to a powered amp I just couldn't get it loud enough to hear clearly through my earplugs. Maybe with your helmet/windscreen/speaker setup that won't be an issue for you. Worth giving it a try for $20 I suppose

Many long distance riders use the ER6i, thats where I first heard about it actually.
