would it be worth it?
At your age, it might seem worthwhile. Trust me, it's not long after you're out of your parents house and paying rent that you realize that you had it pretty good not paying bills at home. It was maybe three months after I moved out and was working full time at a car wash paying my way through community college before I started thinking to myself, "All they wanted me to do was mow the lawn!"
Try to come up with some compromise instead. Maybe a dirt bike or a scooter. You've got to know that your parents are fighting you on this because all other things being equal, motorcycles are not as safe as cars. Find a way to show them that you can handle responsibility and that you'd take riding seriously. If that doesn't work then respect their wishes. When you move out of your parents house, do it right. Support yourself and be smart about it. Financing a motorcycle is not smart. Having a motorcycle in Florida without a garage to put it in is not smart. You might have to wait a while to get what you want, but if you can earn it for yourself in a respectable way (not by selling the car your parents bought you, that's lame), then it'll be worth that much more to you.

Well said brotha...rep
Listen to this man, he knows what he's talking about.
My parents said the same thing, I respected there wishes until I turned 21 and Just brought home a Buell one day and they didnt really seem to care because I had matured since the last time I bugged them about getting one.
Hate to say it but parents know best because most of them been thru the same shit with there parents.

no just get it and stay home. they're just saying that to replace "don't get it" because they know you won't survie outside, let alone getting a bike while living outside. edit: u're 18 nevermind about everything because they going to be sign few papers for you to get the bike
i say wait until your 21/22 cause a sport bike with the under 21 plate is going to be a cop magnet.

You should just go ahead and get the sport bike!! Like, why should you have to conform cuz ur parents are like so holding you down... U dont need a girlfriend anyway............ like totally. get a gsxr600, it's just FABULOUS! It wont make your package as large as the 1000, but who needs that when you can beat 1000s on the 600 anyway!?!?!? like, DUHHHHHH!!!!
