I frequent that road quite often in my car, never on a bike yet. but my buddy has ridden his bike and driven many cars down it hundreds of times. I LOVE the road, and like others say I try not to bring new people with me b/c they always over shoot it. I personally know 3 people who have totaled their cars on it from small driver errors, and i myself have had a few close calls. BE SAFE OUT THERE!

Id say one of the trickier turns for me is the 2nd turn(left going into the S) after the golf course, if you are coming from racetrack rd. I tend to hear the hairpin by the golf course gets most of the bikers though.

The corner south of the golf course coming from Race track is an ass biter if coming into fast.

But theres one i think about the 3rd turn in (right) coming from RT that will sneak up on you also.I like riding Patterson just to get the feel back cause I really havent rode that hard in a while, but when im out there and its cold, like a moist cold.I get scared the tires are not warm enough and will make me low side it.

Do any of you remember about the cop who died behind the eagls?

wut up T ?...Now I understand why po-po was so thick yesterday. It was 4ish when we were there, must've just missed the wreck, but not the cops. I hate one right-turn (from patterson),1/2 way thru, not that its sharp (love those), it just always appears to be WET! (mysteriously slippery) ??? could it be HAUNTED ?!!!!!! j/p

Not only when cold, even on hot days. Its just that 1 turn. I dont know the history of wrecks there, but I bet they happen on this turn. Maybe like what "Slo" says :"Bad Ju-Ju"....?? don't know; wierd. I feel that I can kill it on the rest, just that 1 creeps me.

i was out there on the bike just a week ago, with some car guys. it was like 2 am and cold as fuck...lol

i'm leading the 4th pass, back to rack track and am out to far to know what happened. but a friend bailed on that 2nd corner in the S and went stright into the cows. once i get to the end and wait a bit, i'm like shit, they should be here,i was taking it easy along the way cause i didn't see any headlights behind me. so i turn around and haul ass back to find it stuck as they tried to drive it back out onto the road.

so of course they leave the bike guy whos freezing his ass off, to stay with the car as they go get a truck to pull it out.

car's not to bad and no one got hurt...but had he been on a bike. it would not have been good.

watchout for that road if you don't know it by hart, and even then just ride it half paced not the normal 80% you heard people say about street riding.

oh and tony, there's a dip on the stright by the golf course... i'm sure thats what you hit. its right about the top of 3rd or just changing to 4th and will get the whole bike off the ground if your balls to the wall on a liter bike. weird thing is, you don't even notice it at a normal speed. lol

I normally don't like to go in the afternoon and alway have a funny feeling when leaving for a ride so late in the day. I didnt have much time so i decided to do my favorite little local route out to the Keystone area where there exists a little loop of some very nice roads. Since it was later in the afternoon and i was riding alone, my pace was nice and easy. I decided to work on improving my ability to "flick" the bike into turns with more precision and quit my (and many other riders') tendancy for lazy steering on the street. This was all decided before leaving my subdivision roads and i'm very glad for it because it as it turned out i would see a couple of incidents during my little ride.

Upon departing, i hit a very popular local favorite (N---b----r) on the way out since its with in 2 miles of my house. Less than 1/2 mile after i get on the road, someone on a newer (05 by looking at the light) GSXR 600 comes up on me @ speed in the first little straight...gets behind me for the switchback by the Sheriffs house, falls a little back after the 2nd turn, then passes me on the next little striaght going into a tight right...so as he passes, naturally, i match pace...as i start to set-up for the turn (at speed), the GSXR apparently freaks, brakes VERY hard and goes off roading...no target fixation for me, i complete the corner and instantly sit straight up and look in the mirror to make sure he didnt go down, which he didnt, so i just kept on keepin on.... so to the mystery GSXR rider ...

So i get out to the Keystone area and after 2 loops, im feeling good...traffic is light, no po-po and my little practice session is going very well...then i round the 2nd turn after the golf course on Patterson to see a clump of cars pulled to the side of the road 2 turns ahead...instantly I get the feeling its a rider down....only to have my suspicions confirmed once pulling up to the scene....

i see someone lying prone on the side of the road, very near a fence and between two street signs (which marked the > turn direction)...rider is not moving with people around them and covered with a blanket...my stomach sinks...i pull over and shut off the bike. 3 guys are standing by 3 bikes on the side of the road...i ask if help is on the way, they say yes...i ask "is he ok?"...they say "we think so"....what happened, did he lowside (which was how the bike appeared to me)?....no he highsided....(waaa? i think to myself)....so then is realize on the of the guys was the rider who went down and the person down was the passenger....a girl...

in the mean time, the guys are surveying the damage to the 05 YZF-R1 and commenting on the severity....i ask "are you the guy who went down?" noticing now the torn ICON jacket and rips on the right side of this jeans....yeah, my front end washed out and I slid off the road, almost smashed my head on one of the sign posts....

needless to say i was surprised to see that the guy was surveying the damage to his bike (which was minimal) while is GF was lying prone on the ground waiting for a gutwagon to arrive....

i think she was ok, but im not sure....if anyone has any info, post up...there was also an older GSXR 750 (yellow and black) and a blue/silver Busa riding with the guy who went down. "This road will bite ya" were my departing words.

All in all, the weather was great and i got my fix after all. So be careful on that road, i know or have seen a total of 10 riders go down on that road...it is a place of bad ju-ju....im not saying dont ride it, just be wary....

that was my best friends ryan and amanda who went down. i dont see how ryan went down he corners just as good as me with his girl on the back he is an excelent rider. ryan caught his jacket on the bike and was dragged with the bike a good 150 feet and if the bike hadnt of stopped where it did that street sign would have taken him out. amanda has a broken collar bone, she did not brace herself for imnpact because she thought he was turning low and did not realize that he was going down till she was actually on the ground. this is really sad for me because they were my riding buddies and basically the leader of our group. they always led wednesday nights when we meet at the hess on 54 and little. if they didnt ride i usually didnt ride. most of you all probably know amanda she was well known in the biker community. the bike just needs an undertail plastic and a front end plastic, race railz saved the day...

amanda is a little freaked and when i say a little i mean a lot. she basically doesnt even want to ride again. i know that when she is all better she will change her mind because riding is what makes the next day worth waking up for. she was telling me "if a car would have been there...." when you go down there is always something that could have happend that could have killed you, but the main thing to remember is that it didnt and you will get back up and ride again...

here is amanda sitting on ryans lap after a sunday ride through belemy bros

I think thats the dip I hit,I just never noticed it before. It was enough to have the front come up on me and not from a power up.But the back didnt.

I bet it looked cool as hell! I pretty much have every bump, crack, turn on that road memorized..haha. Ive driven behind a few friends on their 1000's and I fair pretty well keeping up with them(obviously I cant do 160mph down the straights) but I can hang in the corners. I love it when I find people that can ride or drive and either hang with them or hand me my ass on that road. Its hard to come by good drivers these days...
