Default Full engine rebuild on a 95 Ex500

How hard would this be to do? Anybody know where I could find a good deal on having it done?

That's what I am thinking I will end up doing... I'm just worried about getting another engine and it having problems too.

If you want it rebuilt, i can do it, and depending on sourcing and pricing parts, that will determine how much it will cost. I'd probably try to find a low mileage wrecked bike, and just use the engine, What is wrong with the engine on it now, if ya don't mind me asking?!

I haven't picked it up yet... My friend is giving it to me. He said that it has compression issues on one side, and would need new seals. Not sure all the details. I am looking to try to fix it so my Girl will have something to learn on.

I just talked to my boy and he said all it needs is the seal on one side.

If I was looking for a bike for my woman and someone wanted to give me a slightly broken but otherwise reasonably desirable starter bike, I'd go for it. But then I wouldn't mind tearing into a motor either, just to see if I could get it going again.

Well I got the bike and the top half of the motor looks great.... From what I can tell it just needs a new head gasket, and seal kit.... And paint. Probably a battery too since it has been sitting for a couple of years. The bike only has 8,000 miles and has almost new Battlax tires and muzzy exhaust. I'm pretty excited.
