take the MSF course and think about what you do and don't like about those bikes they teach on, then go from there, go to Motorcycle Rider Education of Clearwater, Inc., its a very comprehensive course. I started on a mid 90's ninja 250...they'll go a million miles and have better power than any of the small cruiser type bikes. The 500 is good too, but a little too much to learn on!
