for real, you guys need to pay attention to what you're getting quoted. progressive does not have 6 month mc policies, they are 1 yr!!!! again, it depends on your age, your driving history, bike yr, type of bike (sport, touring, cruiser) and cc's and what coverages you need!!!

Yeah, what she said^^^^

But seriously though... It's a VERY high risk to insure a young person on a sport bike.... Especially if they have violations/accidents.... I can't tell you how many times I have seen people wreck.

what may have happened if you called to get a quote is out of habit the representative said 6months bc they mostly sell auto policies all day which are 6 months. i've done it before but i always catch myself when the customer is like such and such for 6 months!? and then i'm like, i'm sorry, i mean a yr, most of the policies i quote all day are 6months, sorry i scared you! its something that could happen very easily bc when i worked in sales id only quote like 4 special lines policies all week.

still... 8500 for a year? thats not much better! I'm still looking for the best company. Probably put my car, and my old lady's car on a policy with that company too.

yeah, progressive only does annual special lines policies so you wouldve gotten a qt for an annual policy. call them back and ask the total price for the yr, i dont care about the payment plan crap, and then report back. also, what yr bike and ccs and all that. the type and ccs is what makes the difference. also, if its a new bike and you got comp and coll then its going to be kinda high.

its probably bc its a fairly new bike and you need comp and coll. pull up the qt online and see how much those 2 coverages alone cost, i bet thats where most of the premium is coming from.
and i bet thats some sorta 4 payment plan where you make 4 payments in a row for 4 months and then dont make any for the rest of the yr. is the total prem like $1665 a yr? if so that sounds about normal if you need comp and coll.

Hey, like our commercials say, if we can't save you money on insurance we will tell you who will...

For sportbikes State Farm is the lowest I have seen because they don't insure people who wreck <- You can't insure with them if you have a poor driving record.
