Default A couple questions?

What are the pro's to having a 520 Chain Pitch?

With me owning a R1 do I really need to change the number of teeth?

520 is just a lighter chain i think. and imo my buddy had a 01 r1 and that thing was a torque monster 1 thru 3. i wouldnt do no gearing unless you want low end. and if you do -1 +2

do it. what is there to know? just dont get aluminum sprockets if you do get the anodized ones for extra strength or steel ones.

I was just wondering what the 520 ment. If it is just lighter then I will stick with regular chains and sproket combo's.

I was wanting to go with this sproket but they only offer it in the 520 for my bike. That is why I am asking the question on what the differnce is?

you wont snap a 520 man most people run them on the litre bikes for racing. they wouldnt sell 520 conversion kits if you would snap it like that!

520 helps get rid of a bit of unsprung weight. Its a good upgrade I plan on making the upgrade myself.

You won't snap a 520, don't know where that dewd got that Idea from.

Alum are lighter, the drawback is they don't last as long. I had alum sprockets with my older bike with PM Wheels. No other probs other than longevity.

Pay close attention to your ratios when changing your gearing... 15/45 gives you a ratio of 3.0. a -1 front & +2 rear changes your ratio dramatically on any given bike. It may cause it to rev too high at crusing speeds & take a bit of top end from the bike... if you are cool with that then go for it... just trying to help you know what you're actually doing...
