Thanks for the video link.... I hadn't seen that yet. That guy can drive his ass off...... I wonder what the lap times would be compared to the TT race.

I still stand by my statement that F1 is boring to watch.... I don't care if it's apples and oranges. They are still lumped into the same category of motorsports. That one little video just then contained more excitement in 3 minutes than a whole afternoon spent watching F1 races. The ONLY time an F1 race gets exciting is when drivers rub the tires and go airborne flipping and probably killing themselves. I think Rally (especially the WRC),
is exciting the whole race...sort of like Pikes Peak racing. They don't need to crash to be exciting...just "almost" crash a bunch of times.

Rossi is the highest paid athlete in italy... and i would leave motogp in a second to be in the WRC... thats what got me into racing when i was a kid.

It's all good if you think it's boring, but just don't say it's boring cause F1 cars can't go doing big jumps, etc. That's like saying WRC is boring because they wouldn't be able to hang out 5 lateral G's in a corner, etc.

I think NASCAR is boring cause they can't run 4-second passes in the 1/4-mile.

I'm not saying F1 is boring "because" they can't go over bumps, slide sideways and so on... I guess what I am really trying to say is that F1 is boring for hundreds of reasons....mainly the whole left turning only for 500 miles is what kills it for me. Same with Nascar. The only part about F1 cars I like is the sound of the engines screaming at 15,000 rpm's.

You'd think I thought drag racing is boring too but you'd be wrong. My dad brought me out to the dragstrip starting when I was 4 years old (I'm 32 now) and now he races professionaly in the NHRA all over the country... I'll take 6sec. 1/4 miles everyday over 210mph circle shit.

Superbikes is a great show... on tonight at 9:00. I like the track segments better than the stunt segments but it's still way better than that Pinks crap.

F1 is about more than just what's happening on the race track.

you tend to get into, what driver is going where... who's going to be his #2 while he's there.

like mike is gone and kimi is taking his spot... I wouldn't miss next years F1 for nothing in the world. the only thing better would have been if mike would have stayed and kimi raced for the same team.

for the same reason I will watch to see how montoya does in nascrap next year...

what happens on the track gets old after you see it over and over again, year after year.... no matter what it is....

but please don't tell me drag racing is fun to watch...cause it not at all. the tech can be cool to learn about....like big turbo cars on 10.5 tires. but watching.... blah!!!

I have watched Top Fuel dragsters and Top Fuel funny cars make double passes in person at night. Standing on the track side, you have to really cover your ears, each car produces around 8,000 horsepower...double that and you have 16,000 horsepower. It is extremely hard to describe that.... the noise will make your ears hurt even when covered. You can also feel it in your body, it's the weirdest feeling. Maybe close to standing behind a jumbo jet at takeoff. You can feel the heat from the exaust and if it's night time, you can really see the flames shoot out about 10 feet high from each side of the vehicle. They go from a dead stop to over 300 miles per hour in 1320 feet in less than 5 seconds. Mid to low 4's.... That kind of performance motorsport wise in unmatched anywhere. They are simply the baddest of all internal combustion engines on the planet. The guys who pilot those cars are sick MF's. They get detached retinas occasionally because of the initial G-forces at launch. They stay coherent enough to actually drive the thing if it starts to do crazy shit.... ever watch a top fuel funny car? They can get as sideways as drifters and going MUCH much quicker....

It is unbelievable to watch in person..... now, on t.v. it is boring. I am not a fan of watching drag racing on t.v. at all.

So, while it may be boring to watch on t.v., do yourself one favor in life and go check it out in person sometime... you'll change your tune.

I might also change my opinion on F1 racing if I was to ever go to a real event in person. But since I never have, my opinion is what it is.

Either way, we all like different stuff....

Just for comparison to street bikes, a top fuel dragster goes well above 300 mph in just a 1/4 mile. The baddest ZX-10 I've ever seen has a hard time hitting 200 mph in a full mile. 4 times the track length and nowhere near close to the speed and acceleration. Yes, it's 8,000 horsepower vs 200 but still, you wouldn't think it was boring in person.
