Default My X-Mas gift to myself . .

Well after recovering the Frame of my R1, I decided not to get such a high profile bike again. After doing tons of research and a lil seat time. I decided on getting a Ninja 650R. They are a blast! not that fast top speed of 147, but they really get down. I rode a friend of mines 650R and was really impressed. They are cheap, 6300 new. and the research that went into them really impressed me. It weighs almost as much as a 250R. The motor is powerfull but yet smaller and more compact than that of it's brother the EX500. One quick wrist snap in 2nd and the front comes up with ease. I don't get it till the end of december, due to parents co-signing for me *they are buying a house, and can't co-sign till after they close* I already have lined up a two-brothers exhaust and a powercommander III. Basically as soon as I get it I will have clip-ons, slip-on, and a power commander, before I even go riding. I can't wait i'm as excited as a kid on x-mas eve. haha

whats ur guys opnion on the 650r?

i prefer the SV650 honestly...i dont like the huffy bars on the 650R and the SV handles better imo...tip in feels easier. but its something you need to decide for yourself.

i don't like the huffy bars either, thats why I ordered clip-ons. felt real nice with clip-ons. i rode a sv and I felt more confident on the 650R. it also lowered the front a lil bit with the clipons.

147mph top end seems a bit high. Where did you get that from?

It is a great bike, we almost bought one, but the SV won us over with its aftermarket support.

I like the 650r a lot...

I've never been a big fan of the sv's and I don't like working on a bike, so the aftermarket isn't a big deal to me.

I'm sure you'll have fun with it....

before you buy a 650R check back with me, I bought my fiance an 06 650R 8 months ago brand new when I bought my R1, it has just under 400 miles on it, if she doesnt start riding it soon I'm going to sell it. It is a black one with the red frame, it has one small dent on the gas tank , very tiny, it fell over and landed on a wooden fence post, but other than that the bike is mint with just 400 miles on it.

in my opinion..i was going to get the 650r but didnt like the huffy bars too..it was too much of a sit up bike..i wanted to be leaned over..thats why i waited alittle bit and bought its big brother..the zx6r..
