Honda CBR F3 sells for around $3500 in mint w/ like 10k miles

perfect beg bike. Insurance is about $80 a month for me being 17 yrs old.

You need helmet jacket gloves boots

well depending on your age your insurance could be 400 bucks a month or it could be 200 who knows.

as far as the gixxer if you get one wear a helmet lol. but in my personal opinion id take a look see at the kawi 636 or a 10r. much sexier then those gixxers. ask yourself this...

when walking through a mall and you see someone wearing the same jeans or shirt you have on you feel awkward walking past that person dont you?!?!?! well imagine that same feeling everytime you leave your house because guess what?!?! EVERYONE HAS A GIXXER DOOD!!!!

yeah i totally recommend a 10r for your first bike!!! get fuggin real....distopiam has the best advise so far...buy yourself an older 600, you will save a bundle of $ and get a chance to see if you even like riding or not! The older 600's are still very quick and perform very very well...

in all actuallity for a first bike i would go with an SV650, cheap, S models look pretty cool and they are FUN to ride!!!

any way you go....take a safety course, spend as much money on gear as you can and take it easy for the first half year or so until you build some skill and control...and most of all...have fun!

as is the case with most Suzukis (sorry that one was too easy)...but we are talkin about a first bike here, not next seasons race bike...and its a fundamnetally good bike that is good to learn on...price is right as well....
